The dining room ceiling is equally spaced and the outlet for the light fixture is in the exact center of the room which was great when it was just the table and six chairs.  Now add a buffet and hutch (table now has to slide over) and yup the fixture is no longer in the center of the table.  Well that little OCD demon in my brain would poke me every time I walked by the room, it would yell “hey asshole that light isn’t centered”.  Yikes!  I couldn’t stand it any longer and purchased a new light fixture, with a chain, that can now be centered and I like it a lot and I can sleep at night.
