It’s the start of Christmas here on the ridge.

It was a gorgeous day in the mid 40’s and sunny which is unusual for end of November up here in Traverse City. Nice enough for me to hop in the Rubicon and head up to Lighthouse Park at the tip of Old Mission Peninsula. It wasn’t very crowded and I got a brisk 2 mile hour hike. Also took a couple of photos… didn’t forget to bring the camera this time.

When I got back to the parking lot there was this cute antenna topper on my door handle. The little tag attached said ” Hey Jeeper You’ve been Ducked. Share a smile and a picture of your awesome Jeep” Then an address to post to on Facebook. I took a photo of the topper but not me. I’ll consider if I actually want to post a photo of me, my Jeep and Duckie on Facebook later.

A quick view of the front of the house after we power washed all the dirt, spider webs and unfortunately some of the paint in the spots that weren’t aluminum siding, Oops!

The most dramatic change was the kitchen/living room. They were two separate rooms that were combined into one area.

The new space is definitely more open and much lighter due to the cabinets and wall color.

Turn back time to the old Metra Picnic Days if anyone remembers those back in the mid 70’s and early 80’s (to see the album https://www.flickr.com/gp/upmike/3AG8R7)
This reminds me that I need to get the clippers out… not ready to return to the salon just yet.

Haserot Beach

Not as many families at Haserot Beach on Wednesday 7/8/2020 as there were on the 4th when Robin, Carol and myself went kayaking. Today it was just me and the camera.

Just beyond Haserot Beach is the new Kelly’s Landing which will be the new boat launch since the one at Haserot was destroyed last winter during a bad storm. Township has been wanting to separate the boat launch from the beach for a while so this is a good thing.
Pat had mentioned that the new deck material made it difficult to see the step down from the top rise to the lower portion. Off to Lowes I go in search of something to correct this accident just waiting to happen.
I found this 1/2 by 1 white MDL molding which I just added to edge and it not only draws your attention to the step but adds a some extra definition to the structure.
Meanwhile Robin and Carol were busy converting the propane fire pit to natural gas.

The hedges were getting a little unruly so Pat got the electric trimmers and went to work…

So much better!
